Has Michigan punched its ticket to the big dance?

A buzzer-beating loss to Northwestern on the road hurts, but Michigan’s tournament hopes are still very alive late into the season.

Last year, it was Kam Chatman’s game-winning shot that punched Michigan’s ticket to the big dance. Without that win against Indiana in the Big Ten Tournament, the Wolverines would have likely been watching March Madness from a couch in Ann Arbor.

The story looks a little different this year. Derrick Walton has lead Michigan on a charge late in the season, and it seems as if the Wolverines have done justĀ enough to collect an invite to the NCAA Tournament. But this is March, meaningĀ nothing is for certain.

A win at Nebraska would likely solidify the Wolverines’ case, but doing some damage in the Big Ten Tournament should guarantee Michigan a spot in the field of 68. Listen to the Go Blue Crew’s thoughts on Michigan’s latest loss, and what it takes for the Wolverines to stay relevant in the minds of the selection committee.
