Michigan Basketball: Wolverines Land Top 100 PG Xavier Simpson

John Beilein can’t recruit? Shush.

Just hours after Cassius Winston dropped Michigan from his top three, 2016 Lima (OH) PG Xavier Simpson has committed to Michigan. The 5-10, 155 pound point guard is ranked 69th by 247Sports’ composite rankings, 87th player by Rivals, and 55th by Scout.

The original plan for Simpson was to decide between Illinois, Iowa State, Miami, and Wisconsin. However, after a visit to Ann Arbor on Sunday, the Wolverines were able to make a strong enough push to convince him otherwise.

Simpson, the fourth commit of the 2016 class, is a big one as the Wolverines were looking to fill the slot at point guard. With Xavier Simpson, the future of Michigan Basketball looks bright.
