It is unbelievable to think that The Big House Report has been up and running since 2011. Josh Henschke, a current Michigan Football/Basketball Beat Writer for TheMichiganInsider.com, launched TBHR and developed the site into a credible source of information for everything Michigan Football and Basketball related.
Josh’s continued success at TBHR eventually allowed him to move on to bigger and better opportunities, so he handed the lead over to Anthony Broome. Anthony picked up where Josh left off, and bettered the site himself. He too was willing to put the time in, and it paid off as he ultimately followed Josh to Maize n Brew.
About a year ago, Tyler Fenwick took over the reigns. The transition was just as seamless as the transition prior. He grew quickly through TBHR and kept the staff strong and positive through a disastrous Michigan Football season and disappointing Michigan Basketball season. Both of these seasons were two of the toughest for bloggers to cover in recent history, but Tyler kept the TBHR troops honest and motivated, so we continued to put out content. His efforts have now allowed him to accept an editor position at FanSided’s GBMWolverine.com, bringing an end to his time here at TBHR.
Three years ago, Josh offered me the opportunity to post content for TBHR. As a lifelong Michigan fan it was a blessing to have a chance to write about the university I am most passionate about. I have stayed on board through three management changes, and I have witnessed the site grow into a reputable source for Michigan Athletics. I still remember the days when @TBHReport had less than a thousand followers! Times have definitely changed.
I have been handed the keys to TBHR, and I am excited to have the opportunity to not only maintain, but also develop and enhance the site. TBHR has proved to be a great feeder system, so my only job is to keep it running as smoothly as the three gentleman before me.
Tyler said it best in his farewell post,
“The goal of TBHR is to provide a ground-level platform that caters both to those wanting to pursue writing as a career and those who simply love it as a hobby.”
I am excited to play the ‘Skipper’ role for The Big House Report. Stay tuned as we get set to kick off a new season!
