While all the talk surrounding Michigan’s 2015 recruiting class seems to become gloomier each day, 2016 pro-style quarterback Messiah deWeaver (Dayton, Ohio) is beginning to make conversations about the Wolverines’ 2016 class very interesting as well.
deWeaver (ranked the No. 12 pro-style quarterback in the class by 247Sports) committed to Michigan on June 18 of this year, but he has recently been picking up steam with other top-level programs.
Penn State became the latest program to pull the trigger on deWeaver, becoming the ninth school to offer him. With recent visits to Kentucky and Michigan State not far removed, it’s safe to say deWeaver is becoming more heavily sought after.
deWeaver will very likely hold true to his commitment to the Wolverines until a new head coach is hired, at which time he will decide if Michigan is still the best place for him to land.
deWeaver holds offers from three Big Ten schools, other than Michigan: Penn State, Michigan State and Indiana.
