Michigan’s Drake Johnson Suffers Torn ACL

Posted on Posted in Michigan Football

On Saturday, Drake Johnson was running like a young Mike Hart, donning the same number as the talent back as well.

Although Johnson ran better than any back for the Wolverines against the Buckeyes, he will be on the shelf for quite some time now. Johnson suffered an ACL tear in the loss, and is a big blow to the sophomore.

The Michigan backfield has had a tough time getting things going this season, and the injury bug hit just about every starting running back option they had this season. Johnson seemed poised, and ready to take on the starting role, but will need to work even harder just to get back on the field next season.

Michigan was not bowl eligible this season, so Johnson will be able to rehab during the long offseason, and attempt to come back quicker than expected, similar to Jake Ryan and Jake Butt, who also suffered ACL tears.

This story is ongoing and we will provide updates as they come.
