The athletic departments of the University of Michigan and the University of Texas have recently reached an agreement to play the first home-and-home series between the two historic programs, beginning in 2024 in Ann Arbor and again in 2027 in Austin.

The first game is set for Aug. 31, 2014, while the second is slated for Sept. 4, 2027. Michigan ranks first in all-time wins with 912; Texas ranks third with 876.

Brady Hoke had this to say of the series (obtained from Derek Satterfield, mgoblue.com):

“A matchup of this magnitude doesn’t come along all that often, and when it does it’s special for both programs and the great fans that support each institution.”

Stay tuned for reactions and development.
