TBHR Interviews 2015 Wide Receiver Grant Perry

The Michigan Wolverines had a ton of potential recruits they were looking at during the Sound Mind Sound Body Football Academy in Harper Woods, Mich. this past weekend. Some were big names and others were guys that may have caught their attention for the first time.

One of the players to make a big splash at the camp was 2015 wide receiver Grant Perry (Bloomfield Hills, MI), who is a three-star prospect and a teammate of current Michigan quarterback commit Alex Malzone. I had the chance to speak with him following the camp about his recruitment and his upcoming camp in Ann Arbor. Check it out after the jump.

TBHR: Talk about your experience and performance at the Sound Mind Sound Body Camp.

Perry: I think it went really well. I definitely came to play. I feel like I went up against some good competition and I held my own.

TBHR: What coaches from Michigan were you in contact with at the camp?

Perry: I was talking to (wide receivers coach Jeff) Hecklinski a lot. I talked to (offensive coordinator Doug) Nussmeier, and (recruiting assistant Daniel) Ifft.

TBHR: You’ll be camping at Michigan on Monday and Tuesday (June 16-17). What are you hoping comes out of that camp?

Perry: My ultimate goal is to walk away with an offer from Michigan. That’s something I’ve been focusing my sights on.

TBHR: What would an offer from them mean to you?

Perry: It’d be a dream come true. I’ve been growing up watching Michigan since I was a little kid and it would be a very big accomplishment in my life.

TBHR: Would having your high school quarterback (2015 commit Alex Malzone) in the picture be a factor in the recruiting process?

Perry: I think it’d be sweet to play again with him, but I’m not going to base my decision off another player, but that would definitely be a two-for-one package if we ended up together.

TBHR: What kind of quarterback is Michigan getting in Malzone?

Perry: They’re getting a fundamentally sound leader. He has all the intangibles that you look for in a quarterback and I definitely think he is the future at Michigan, for sure.
