Darrin Kirkland Jr. Has Committed to Michigan

Posted on Posted in Michigan Football, Recruiting

On Sunday, the Michigan Wolverines picked up a big commitment for the 2015 recruiting class. Darrin Kirkland Jr. reported via his twitter account that he has committed to the Wolverines and he will be added as the 7th member of the 2015 class, joining QB commit Alex Malzone as the newest members.

Kirkland Jr. is a highly touted Inside Linebacker and he will fill the void that has been at middle linebacker for the university for several years now. He will be an instant impact on defense if he can shine early in camp, and there are no real reasons to believe he won’t do that.

He will be in a, at least on paper, pretty impressive line backing core. Along side him will be Michael Ferns and Chase Winovich. Michigan has improved their linebackers significantly since Brady Hoke has taken over as head coach, and it has continued in this class.

Kirkland Jr. is a 4 star prospect according to 247sports.com
