Much has been discussed about what direction the Michigan Wolverines will go at the quarterback position in the 2015 recruiting class. A new name popped up that has not been mentioned until now: Torrance Gibson.
Gibson is a five-star prospect and the top ranked dual-threat quarterback in the 2015 class, according to 247 Sports. We had the chance to catch up with him in the wake of his contact with the Wolverines. Check out what he had to say after the jump.
TBHR: You tweeted that the University of Michigan has shown interest in you. What kind of contact have you had with them?
Gibson: “I just started talking to Coach (Chris) Singletary today and he was telling me that they are highly interested in me.”
What are your thoughts on Michigan?
“Michigan is a great place and their fans are amazing. They have the biggest stadium in college football and I would really like to build a relationship with the coaches.”
Some coaches have shown interest in you at different positions. Are you pretty sold on playing quarterback at the next level or are you open to a position change depending on the situation?
“I’m sold on playing quarterback.”
Do you think you’ll visit Ann Arbor anytime soon?
“Yes of course.”
He went on to say he wants to decide on a school either the week before or during 2015’s National Signing Day.
Gibson seems interested in hearing more about the university and what the program has to offer. Time will tell what kind of relationship he develops with Brady Hoke, Doug Nussmeier, and the Wolverines.
