Michigan has addressed a position of need with their ninth commitment in the 2013 class with the commit of 4* TE Jake Butt, who hails from Pickerington, Ohio. Jake is listed number 96th in the country and adds that possession threat Brady Hoke and company have needed.
What does this mean for Michigan? Well, this adds yet ANOTHER four star guy to fold. BUT, this creates a surplus at a position that will desperately need to be filled with Kevin Koger graduating. In his Sophomore year, Butt finished the year with 27 receptions, 437 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. With another year to mature, expect Butt’s stats to rise dramatically next year.
In my opinion, expect Butt to compete for the starting job. Devin Funchess will be used as the receiving TE alongside A.J. Williams who was recruited primarily as the blocking TE.
